FRC8548 - Transfer Box Speed Clip - For Selector Pivot on Defender, Discovery 1 & 2 and Range Rover Classic (Part Number: FRC8548)
Stopper split pin (clevis pin clip) for the selector finger and parking brake rod (Split Pin / Clevis Pin Clip).
This is a critically important fastening element used in many mechanical assemblies of transmission and steering systems of Land Rover vehicles.
Main features and purposes:
- Function: The pin fixes cylindrical fingers (Clevis Pins) in the places of moving connections of levers and Budget Parts rods.
- Prevents the finger from falling out due to vibrations, which will protect the system from sudden disconnection of the rod.
Where it is installed:
- LT230 transfer case selector — fixes the fingers of short rods (including the same FTC3675 and FTC3698) on the selector shafts.
- Hand (parking) brake drive — connects the handbrake cable to the brake shoe spreading mechanism on the output shaft of the transfer case.
- Pedal assembly — in some modifications, holds the pushrod of the clutch master cylinder.
Compatibility with models:
- Land Rover Defender (1987–2006)
- Discovery 1 and Discovery 2
- Range Rover Classic
Important maintenance rule:
These pins are considered one-time use parts. During the disassembly of the rods for selector inspection, replacement of FRC6872 swivel or repair of FRC6109 fork, old pins are bent, causing metal fatigue. Their reuse is strictly not recommended, as a cheap part that breaks on rough terrain can completely deprive you of the ability to shift the transfer case or use the handbrake.
