FTC3698 - Linkage for Transfer Box Output Shaft on Land Rover Defender (from 1994 on), Discovery 1 and 2 (Part Number: FTC3698)
Short connecting link for engaging the differential lock on the LT230 transfer case, Land Rover.
FTC3698 connects the selector mechanism in the shifter with the fork drive shaft (FRC6109), which directly locks the differential.
Main features:
- Purpose: Provides mechanical linkage for activating and deactivating the differential lock. It transfers lateral movement to the transfer lever.
- Application according to the catalog: Starting from chassis numbers MA939976 (for Defender, approximately from 1994, when the transmission shifter was updated).
Compatibility with models:
- Land Rover Defender (classic models from 1994 to 2006, as well as "Puma" versions 2007-2016).
- Discovery 1 (late versions) and Discovery 2.
Feature for Discovery 2:
On Discovery 2 vehicles (1998-2004), there was often a hidden differential lock function inside the transfer case from the factory, but there was no lever mechanism in the cabin.
Many owners buy this connecting link together with the shifter from a Defender or Discovery 1 in order to have full manual control of the locking system in the cabin (known as Diff Lock Upgrade / Retrofit).
