STC2940 - Transfer Box Diff Gear Set for LT230 - Defender, Discovery 1 & 2 and Range Rover Classic (Part Number: RTC4490 > STC2940)

Transfer Box Centre Differential Gear Set for Land Rover.

This repair kit is designed to restore the internal part of the central differential of LT230 type transfer boxes (specifically, assemblies with assembly code 43D and similar). Instead of replacing the entire expensive assembly (FTC5207), this kit allows for a complete refresh of the internal moving parts.

What's included in the STC2940 kit:

The kit contains 6 gears and a set of thrust washers:

• 4 small differential pinions/spider gears.
• 2 large planetary (side) gears of output shafts (sun/side gears).
• Set of calibrated thrust washers (copper/spherical for pinions and flat for side gears) that set the correct thermal clearance and prevent backlash.

Important: Manufacturer's instructions require installing all gears exclusively as a matched pair, mixing new parts with worn old components is strictly prohibited.

The kit is universal for most LT230 transfer box modifications:

• Land Rover Defender (models produced from 1986 to 2016, including engines 200Tdi, 300Tdi, Td5, and TDCi/Puma).
• Land Rover Discovery 1 & 2 (1989–2004).
• Range Rover Classic.
