AS25 - 300Tdi Uprated 'Double Core' Alloy Intercooler by Allisport - Fits Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic (Part Number: AS25)

High-performance replacement dual-core intercooler for Land Rover Defender, Discovery, or Range Rover 300 Tdi.

This intercooler was designed to replace the original intercooler and has an 80% larger surface area than the original. Ideal for vehicles equipped with winch bumpers where it is not possible to install our larger front intercooler.

This model is a great compromise between our enhanced replacement model and the larger front mount option, and is also suitable for vehicles with air conditioning.

Special high-efficiency LIFT (Louvred Internal Fin Technology) with a thickness of 115 mm, a controlled atmosphere-brazed core, TIG hand-welded at home using internal turbulators to increase cooling power. Combined with proper tuning (including instructions), power will increase from the standard 111 hp to approximately 141 hp with a similar increase in torque. These figures are averages taken from our customers' own independent road tests.

Increased cooling power will allow up to a 27% increase in power and torque at low and medium revs and improve throttle response, with customers regularly reporting a 10-15% increase in fuel economy.

The thermal load on the cylinder head is actually reduced as combustion temperature or EGT sharply decreases.

Please note, you will need to adjust the original intercooler/radiator frame to install this intercooler, or purchase our replacement frame.

Since the intermediate cooler is much more efficient than the standard element, the fuel pump will need adjustment to compensate for the mixture change.

The adjustments are simple and described in the installation instructions.

Since most TDI vehicles are not electronically controlled, there is no ECU to reprogram, so we optimize fuel and boost settings to mechanically match the intercooler.

Discovery vehicles after 1998 are equipped with an EDC diesel electronic control system and will require electronic tuning.
